Hearty welcome to all couples
who are contemplating to get married
at our parish. Make it your spiritual home
Weddings must be scheduled at least 6 months in advance.
Weddings can take place at Saint John the Evangelist
or Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Time & Date
Please consult the priest for their availability.
Mass or Ceremony
Nuptial Masses are recommended if both the bride and groom are
practicing Catholics. Ceremonies are celebrated in situations when either the bride or groom is not a practicing Catholic or non-Catholic.
Readings
All couples are given a booklet entitled Together For Life. This booklet provides you with a large selection of prayers and reading that can be used for your wedding.

Old Testament Reading
New Testament Reading
Prayer of the Faithful
Please try to make sure your readers have good public reading skills and are comfortable reading in public.
Music
Music performed in the Church must be Religious or Classical in nature. Popular music, Broadway songs or the use of recorded music is not permitted. All music is under the direct supervision of our Music Director/Organist. Couples should arrange to choose their musical selection by contacting our Music Director/Organist at least one month before their scheduled date. Please all the rectory to get his contact information.
Additional instrumentalists can also be arranged through him.
Rehearsals
Date and time for the rehearsal will be arranged by the presiding priest/deacon. All documentations, fees, reading selections and the state license must be submitted by the time of the rehearsal.
Photographers/Videographers
Our church is a sacred place, and the celebration of Marriage is a sacred event. Photographers and videographers are expected to be as inconspicuous as possible. They are not permitted to stop any action, come into the sanctuary area or walk across the front of the church. Pictures may be taken inside the church following the wedding
providing that a sense of reverence is maintained and it does not interfere with other scheduled services.
Miscellaneous & Safety
For safety reasons, the following are not permitted:
-pew candles
-the throwing of flower pedals, rice, birdseed or confetti
-free-standing arches of flowers
No alcohol consumption on church grounds.
Couples wishing to have a Unity Candle can obtain these at any
Religious Article store, and in most card stores.
Punctuality
We realize that this is perhaps the most important day of your life and this day is surrounded by a lot of last minute details etc. Please be mindful of the fact that our staff members frequently have other commitments on the same day as your rehearsal/wedding. Similarly, our church may have additional services scheduled after your wedding. In an attempt to keep things on schedule and to avoid confusion and disappointment, Please make every effort possible to be on time! The celebrant is free to reschedule or adapt the ceremony if excessively late. A late fee also may also be charged.
